UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management: Student Accessibility Comments

Slapfish is a seafood restaurant located in Waterford Lakes Center near UCF main campus. It is the first Slapfish location here in Florida. The store concept of a self-described “modern seafood shack” is based on seafood huts typically found in Southern California and Mexico. With more than 20 locations across the U.S., Slapfish takes the fine dining mantra and puts it into a fast casual model. The menu features fish tacos and sandwiches made with fish from local fisheries and the Regal Spring Tilapia. With the price range from $5 to $16, Slapfish is a great hang-out dining place for families and friends in the weekends.

It is a fast casual seafood place with various choice of tilapia to lobster. There is one van accessible parking space right in front of the restaurant and ramp next to it for easy access to the restaurant. The order line is easy to access from the front door and also wide enough for a wheelchair to comfortably move around. The staff are very friendly to answer all of your questions about the dishes and the ingredients. The food came out very quickly and hot. I reccommend the Ultimate Fish Taco and Lobster Taquitos to start, the fish and the taquitos are hot and crunchy. Most of their main dishes are in large portion so it is shareable with other people if you go in a group. Me and my friend ordered 3 dishes and take home half of it. The tables in the restaurant areorganized with enought space for a wheelchair to fit comfortably. They also have an outside patio for guests to enjoys during dinner time. The restroom located down the hallway with accessible restrooms for both genders. The restroom has a decent size for a wheelchair to move around easily. It is very clean and I could see that the staff usually check it. Overall, it is a great place for students and families to come and enjoy delicious seafood dishes.
