UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management: Student Accessibility Comments

  • During my visit to Fashion Square Olive Garden Location I found the restaurant to be very accessible. There was a small step at the entrance, although it was so minor you could have wheeled over it. There was a ramp on the side for a wheelchair if needed. Once you are through the doors, you see the hostess stand and the bar area. I was pleased to see a wide ramp up to the bar with steps on each side. There were no other steps in the restaurant besides the bar area. The dining space was very crowded and there was very little clearance between tables, this may be an issue for someone in a wheelchair. The restroom had three small stalls and an accessible one with very little room. A woman in a wheelchair happened to be coming out of the handicapped restroom when I was there and I noticed her struggling to navigate through the small bathroom. Overall, besides the small bathroom I would say this Olive Garden was adequate for someone in a wheelchair to enjoy a meal without having to worry about the accessibility of the dining areas.
