UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management: Student Accessibility Comments

Confisco Grille, located in the front of Universal’s Islands of Adventure, is an easily accessible location to theme park guests. Confisco is a single level restaurant with an open floor plan. Entry into the main entrance of the restaurant consists of no steps and the tables in the dining room are all at an accessible height with booth and regular table options. The bar is located off of the main dining room with no steps between the dining room and bar. The outdoor entry strictly  into the bar does have 2 steps leading to the entrance with no ramp. The bar area is much smaller than the dining room. The bar only has high top seating, but there are low-top tables available in bar area. The area between the tables in the bar area is a much tighter fit in comparison to the main dining room. The bathroom is located off of the main dining room and is spacious. One thing to note is that the door to the accessible stall does not remain open on its own.

Confisco Grille is an amazing dining option in the front of Islands of Adventure. Their overall ambiance is very warm and welcoming. I’ve been to this restaurant three times now and the service has been fantastic each time. My favorite dish by far is the pad thai. The menu has just been redone, so some of the food offerings shown on the YouTube link may be out of date. The menu consists of Asain-Mediterranean fusion but there’s something anyone can enjoy. Some notable appatizers are the hummus, flash fried calamari, and the spinach & artichoke dip (if you like garlic). The nachos are also a good appetizer and they were amazing the first time I tried them, but the last time the chips were stale so I am hesitant to order them again. It was very easy to enter the restaurant as it has a very wide opening and the dining room is very wide and open. The bar is easily accessible from the main dining room, but there are steps to access the bar from outside the restaurant so it is only accessible from inside the dining room. The bar area itself is a little tight, so I would not recommend sitting in the bar area itself. The inside of the bathroom is pretty spacious, but the door to the accessible stall is a little heavy and won’t stay open on its own so it would be a little difficult on my own to enter the stall. Overall, my experiences with Confisco have been fantastic and I will continue going back.
