Beautiful and ADA friendly property
For the WJAR Project, I visited Sheraton Vistana Villages Resort and was positively impressed with their ADA friendliness. Starting with hotel entrance, they have a step free entrance for the convenience of people who use wheelchairs. The lobby has a wide doorway entrance which makes it easy for the guests to enter the hotel. Most of the common areas are step free, the ones that are not either have a flat accessible entrance or elevator, so there is no single area where a guest with a wheelchair could not enter. The main pool has step free access and all pools have ADA pool lifts. Additionally, there is an accessible restroom in hotel lobby. All building units have accessible parking for the guest convenience as well. The accessible room itself is ADA friendly and has a roll-in shower. In addition, there were a shower pull-down bench seat and grab bars. The bed is ADA friendly about 27 inches in height. ADA room is equipped with audio-visual door alert for the hearing impaired. The restaurant has a step free access as well as some booth tables with a space for guests with wheelchairs to seat. Overall, I really enjoyed the property and their ADA friendliness, but as we all know there is always a place for improvement. I give Sheraton Vistana Villages Resort 4 out of 5.
