Restaurant Overview

Raintree Cafe is known as a seafood and steak fine-dining restaurant in St. Augustine, FL. It was actually built out of an older, 2-story home and has a close and tight-knit feel because of it. The lower level includes a dessert room with dim lighting and a full dessert menu.

UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management: Student Accessibility Comments

  • I have always loved this restaurant and always loved how warm and cosy it felt, until I did this project and realized it is absolutely not ideal for wheelchair accessibility. Although accessible there are some challenges. The restaurant is very old so the ground is very uneven, bricks are out of place and tree roots are pushing up as well. There are many steps, many tight doorways and walkways and, though I am sure it is mostly ADA compliant, first glance and walking through would not have you thinking so. The restuarant itself is a staple in St. Augustine and is well-known by locals and tourists. The food and the atmosphere are wonderful and unique but not so much with the accessibility.
