On this site in 1874 the original Arsenal was built by Count Cortez del Cota in the adobe style common in New Spain, as California was then called. It was rebuilt in its current incarnation in 1950 and soon became famous among those-in-the-know for its fabulous steaks and serious cocktails. A complete renovation in 2003 restored our beloved Los Angeles institution to its original glory.
