Prior to becoming the Rocking V, it was Kanab’s original Mercantile built in 1892 and also a post office and perhaps a few other things. Today’s it’s a funky, fun restaurant and art gallery with a festive atmosphere in a cute area of downtown Kanab.
Entry is step free although there is a 2 inch ramped lip and double doors. We parked at the Best Western Red Hills next door so I didn’t review street parking availability.
The restaurant has an excellent menu and a full bar. We ordered the Bison Tenderloin special which was fabulous! Our server Delta was terrific. The restaurant is relatively spacious in most areas although space is tight near the restroom area. A couple patrons had to move for me to squeeze past to access the restroom, which is large and fully accessible. All downstairs tables were accessible.
There is an upstairs dining area and art gallery but it is not accessible due to a flight of steps.
The Rocking V was said to be the best in Kanab and it truly was excellent. On the WJAR index it receive a 3. If you get to Kanab, I’d highly recommend the Rocking V Restaurant!
