Purdue University Fort Wayne Student Travel Tips: When patronizing Rack & Helen’s Bar and Grill, there is one accessible parking spot attached to the main parking lot. There is a clear and relatively smooth pavement to two accessible entrances. The first entrance is on the side of the building with a ramp to the door. The second entrance is remarkably close to the parking spot which is a back entrance that takes you into the booth seating area of the restaurant. While this entrance is considered a back entrance, I saw many guests use this as the main entrance.

Inside the restaurant there are many tables that are accessible and there are clear smooth paths to get those tables. The carry out counter is not at an accessible height and the bar rail seating is not accessible either. But the friendly wait staff will be more than happy to accommodate your takeout needs, as well as make sure you can find seating at an accessible table.

The restroom has one accessible stall that is plenty long but felt a little narrow. There are grab bars at the back and side of the toilet. There is also good knee clearance to the sink. The sink has a one lever, and the soap is reachable. Overall Rack & Helen’s can provide an accessible dining experience in New Haven, serving up comfort food with midwestern hospitality.
