Paradise Inn on Mt. Rainier, Washington
Wheelchair Accessibility Comments:
Accessible parking is located in front of the Paradise Inn.
Accessibility into the Paradise Inn is very good. However, movement through the large gathering room can be a challenge. There are accessible routes only around the perimeter of the area.
The accessible rooms are fine, except a few areas will be slightly difficult in a large wheelchair. The bathroom is fully accessible, but the sloped shower may pose a small issue for a few.
The snack bar is only accessible in the area near the cash register, but the staff is friendly and will make every effort to help.
Dining at the Paradise Inn is not much of an issue as to accessibility. Access is by a wheelchair lift from the lobby. The only problem is that the hotel requires two staff members to operate it, one at the lobby and one at the dining room entrance. Access around the dining room is easy, utilizing two pathways around the exterior to reach convenient tables. The staff is very helpful.
Across a large parking lot is the Visitors’ Center for Mt. Rainier National Park. Although accessible parking is located a short distance from the entrance, the building is very accessible.
Our experience is rated 4 out of 5 Stars on the WJAR.
