The property of Hyatt Hotel has a very welcoming feeling and a nice staff. The rooms are very spacious for wheelchair accessibility. The inside doors to the rooms are 36 inches wide, and the height is around 79 inches tall. Meeting the standard ADA requirements for height and width and opening easily. Looking at the room itself in the bedroom, the bed is at the height of the bed at 25 inches tall, making it easy for people in a wheelchair to climb onto the bed. Other things to note are the peepholes that can be accessible for people in a wheelchair having two different peepholes, the lowest one being 41 inches tall. Next up, the countertops for dining; yes, it also provides alot of space for wheelchair accessibility, with the height being 36 inches tall, but for the width, it is 36 inches long, providing more space to put your belongings or snacks.

Moving onto the bathroom doors also meets ADA criteria: 32 inches wide. Both the bathroom and room doors can open at a 90-degree angle, giving enough space for people to walk in and out. We can also use the different handrails/ grab bars within the bathroom for both the toilet and the shower. The height of both grab rails for the toilet at 36 inches tall, as well as the RI (Roll In) shower at the height of 74 inches. Other things to note are the additional utilities that were also notable such as having flat surface areas, having shower lip, as well as an available control bench. Finally, looking at the sink is 31 inches tall and allows enough legroom for people in wheelchairs. Overall, meeting all the ADA criteria for both the bathroom, as well as the room itself.

Overall, the Hotel had a lot ADA approved criteria for their handicapped rooms. Providing vital space and other equipment for wheelchair accessibility and ensuring the room can provide the best experience for people in wheelchairs. These include the bathroom, bedroom, and other utilities within the room. Providing things such as grabrail, flat floor surfaces, foldable seats for the Roll In showers, as well as having good measuring for wheelchair accessibility. I feel that, in general, the Hyatt hotel has provided excellent provisions for guests who have wheelchairs, providing excellent friendliness and Accessibility through their facility. So, if you are planning to stay in Fort Wayne for a while and need to know which place is the best for wheelchair accessibility, please check out Hyatt Hotel in Fort Wayne!
