Wheelchair Jimmy Comments
We stayed at the Yreka Holiday Inn Express in May 2020 during the Pandemic on our trip to Seattle from Phoenix. The hotel stay was excellent and everything you could ask for in an accessible overnight stay. There were 2 van accessible parking spaces in the self parking lot on a level grade. It’s a step free hotel and the room (we stayed in room 320) was exceptionally spacious, and there was a wonderfully spacious bathroom as well. Plenty of room for a wheelchair on both sides of the bed. Bed Height was 27 inches. The room door seemed especially hard to open although I managed it.
This is a relatively new hotel and there’s a long hilly road leading up to the entrance, but the hotel property itself is on a perfectly level grade. If you wish to go out for a meal, it’s probably a mile away so you’ll need to drive.
During the Pandemic, they were totally on top of cleanliness, mindful of the Covid virus and followed all protocols. Although we too cleaned the rooms main surfaces, the hotel was exceptionally clean. The breakfast room was closed (the law required closure in May 2020) but they offered a nice pickup breakfast in a take-out bag.
On the WJAR index the Yreka Holiday Inn Express get a 3 (no dinner offer) but I highly recommend this property. I would stay here again!
