Excellent Hotel in Bakersfield
If you’re traveling through Bakersfield on a car trip, this is the place to stay. Very spacious guest rooms and we love the on property Bistro Restaurant. Great price!
Wheelchair Jimmy Accessibility Comments: The Four Points by Sheraton Bakersfield is perhaps the best hotel if you’re traveling through Bakersfield but don’t wish to stay downtown. And it’s reasonably wheelchair friendly. Each year as we drive from Seattle to Phoenix we stay here.
The front entrance has several steps but there is a pathway around to the back where the entry is step free (my wife normally checks us in, then we drive to the room). The guest rooms are exceptionally spacious and the bathroom is accessible although not spacious. Beds height is approximately 27 inches.
We always choose this specific hotel because there is an excellent adjoining restaurant on the property, The Bistro, which is accessible and open for breakfast and dinner (dinner seating closed on Sunday). Other than the front entrance, all common areas are step free, although I did not check to see if their beautiful pool is accessible.
There are several stand-alone buildings on the property and it’s easiest to check-in, then drive to the assigned building. The 100 building is best situated to the front desk but the last couple times we’ve been assigned to building 4, room 402. There is a self parking lot surrounding the property and many van accessible parking spaces.
