Visit to Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo

Purdue University Fort Wayne Student Travel Tips: The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo has lots of accessible parking spaces in the main and side lots. All check in desks are accommodating but the farthest right check-in desk is lower just for wheelchair users.

The zoo has a lot of room to move around but there are spaces that are tighter like the rainforest dome which is also humid and wet. There’s also movable seating, multiple food stalls, and bathrooms to utilize. The carousel and train can both be enjoyed from the wheelchair. The log ride and the sky safari are not accessible by wheelchair. Most areas are easy to move around in, but the kangaroo section and goat section have gravel. The goat area is a little easier than the kangaroo exhibit to move in. The kangaroo, goats, and outside aviary next to the kangaroos all have double doors to enter but there’s enough room to move between them.

If you need any assistance, have any questions, or want to know new updates you can talk to guest services before you check in and they can help with any questions you might have.
