Wheelchair Accessibility Comments

  • Very nice hotel with 200 guestrooms on the upper west side but only 1 wheelchair accessible room.
  • There are 3 hotel entry doors, 1 with a revolving door and 2 with accessible pull open doors. There’s a long ramp to the lobby after you enter the front door to avoid 3 steps. The hotel common areas have no restictive steps.
  • The 1 wheelchair accessible room is a suite and the bathroom has a tub shower.
  • The very nice Calle Ocho restaurant that adjoins the hotel serves breakfast and is open for dinner and drinks at 3:30 pm. There is a ramp from the hotel lobby to avoid 5 steps.
  • No accessible lobby restroom, however, the adjoining restaurant has a restroom.
  • There is a self park garage across the street.
  • JIM’S NOTE: The very nice Excelsior Hotel is accessible, however, it receives a WJAR 2 accessibility rating since it really doesn’t cater to disabled travelers with only 1 accessible room and no roll-in shower.
