The Best Western Red Hills in Kanab UT is actually better than it looks from when you drive in. We stayed in room 146 during our April 2019 stay which had 2 available van accessible parking spaces in front. The very nice room was reasonably spacious with 2 excellent, relatively new, comfortable queen beds. Bed height was 27 inches. The bed has a solid frame so no availability for a Hoyer Lift. The accessible rooms are all on the lower level. There were many van accessible parking spaces on the property. In April 2022 they initially checked us into accessible room 147 which is definitely a smoking room. The smell was awful so luckily we were able to switch to room 146 which was excellent.
The bathroom area was basically 2 rooms, spacious enough and fully wheelchair accessible, with the sink was located outside the toilet/shower area. The sink area included a mini refrigerator, open closet and removable plastic shower chair. There’s no door between the sink area and bedroom. Plenty of space for any sized wheelchair, and you can easily roll under the bathroom sink. Room 146 had a tub shower only with a removable plastic chair. Both rooms have a fold down metal support rail near the toilet, however, the fold down “locking pins” in room 147 didn’t work making toilet accessibility difficult.
The hot, self serve continental breakfast had pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, juices, coffee, etc. The breakfast room was large, spacious and located upstairs via a large commercial elevator. Still available in 2022. No other food or bar.
There’s an outdoor pool which looks wheelchair accessible including an ADA pool lift although it was closed due to cool weather.
In April 2019 we ate dinner at the Rocking V Restaurant located directly across the street. They offered great food, beer, wine and cocktails, and wonderful service. In April 2022 we visited again and the food, wine, cocktails and service were lousy. It was reportedly the best restaurant in Kanab in 2019 but was certainly not in 2022. It was however fully wheelchair accessible on the lower level.
On the WJAR index the Best Western Red Hills in Kanab still gets a 3 but ask for room 146 unless you’re a smoker. I may stay here the next time I drive through the area, but the Parry Lodge as well as the Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile both looked decent on a drive by. I’ll research these next time.

We had an excellent visit at the Red Hills hotel in Kanab. Everything was totally wheelchair accessible including step free access, accessible van parking, spacious comfortable bed and room and comfortable accessible bathroom area. We loved the Rocking V Restaurant next store for dinner. I’d stay here again. Excellent!
