Wheelchair Jimmy Accessibility Comments: Our 2011 driving tour around Ireland included a night in Tralee at the Ballygarry House Hotel & Spa. We had a very nice stay at this hotel with a large, well-appointed room and excellent food. Service was very friendly. The hotel is a couple mile drive from downtown Tralee. We arrived about the same time as a tour bus pulled in so check-in was lengthy and dinner and breakfast dining had to be planned around tour bus customers.
The room was beautifully decorated and accessible. I don’t fully remember all the bathroom details, although it was very accessible for my manual wheelchair. The entrance and most common areas were step free although there was 1 step up to the breakfast restaurant with no ramp (they could have easily ramped it but didn’t).
There didn’t seem to be many great hotel options in Tralee, and Ballygarry’s turned out to be an excellent wheelchair accessible manor house with very wheelchair friendly rooms. Large self parking lot near the entrance.

Ballygarry House Hotel & Spa is a very nice manor house in Tralee with beautifully appointed guest rooms. Very well maintained and totally wheelchair friendly. It’s also one of the tour bus hotels and can be very crowded and check-in delayed a bit for other tourists.
