UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management: Student Accessibility Comments

Armature Works is a food hall located right of the river by the bay in Tampa. Is has a very spacious outdoor space with games and seating that is easy access. It also easy access inside, with wide double door entrances on all four sides of the building. Three sides are level entrances while the back side has a concrete ramp to the door. There are multiple vendors, ranging from sushi to pizza to barbecue, in this building and almost all have at least a part of their counter low enough to be wheelchair accessible. They all seemed to still be a little high but doable. There was a lot of seating and it was very spacious inside to move around. However, it was busy so it seemed a little cramped and with so many chairs pushed out, it was hard to move between some tables. Luckily though, there was still plenty of space to move about and find a seat at one of the lower tables, but there were many high-tops as well. There were multiple restrooms. All with wide door entrances and the one I used had a spacious are inside by the sinks, but none of the doors were wider handicap doors. I did find a stall that was big enough for me to back the chair in to but there was not a grab bar. I do believe other stalls did have a grab bar though and the other restrooms might have a better suited stall for wheelchairs. Overall, the restroom and the building was very clean and had a very lively atmosphere.

The atmosphere was alive and full of energy. It was busy but everyone I encountered seemed very happy to be there. Each vendor that I talked to was also extremely friendly and there were multiple employees walking around to keep things clean. I had a smoothie bowl from SOHO and thought it was absolutely delicious! The people I went with had something from Empamamas and thought it was very tasty as well. There were so many options and I will definitely be going back to try more food. I do believe this venue also puts on events so it is always a good idea to keep that in mind. Overall, I thought this place was wonderful. Beautifully renovated on the inside and it is kept clean. In addition, the place does seem to strive for being eco-friendly with recycle bins and some places do not even use plastic!
