Purdue University Fort Wayne Hospitality Management Student Travel Tips
The Bradley Hotel is a very ADA friendly hotel with ADA friendly restaurants. All of the bathrooms were easily maneuverable in a wheelchair and large. There are grab bars near each toilet and two grab bars in the shower with the shower controls close by and low benches to sit on. The bedrooms and living rooms (in the suite) may be a little cramped, but can be maneuvered in. The same holds true for the restaurant. Aisleways are pretty narrow and would be difficult to maneuver in if crowded, however, it would be possible. The chairs are large and would be difficult to move by itself, but the facility engineer assured us that wait staff would be quick to help and move the chair out of the way if needed. There were no stairs, just a roomy elevator to go up and down to different floors. Parking is a little tricky but there is a valet service, which is very normal for a downtown hotel, and there are handicap parking spaces. When talking to the facilities engineer, he was very transparent about any ADA compliance issues and he assured us that they were looking for solutions to make the space even more ADA friendly.
