The Sky Tower is an observation and telecommunications tower located at the corner of Victoria and Federal Streets in downtown Auckland. It is 1,076 ft tall, as measured from ground level to the top of the mast, making it the tallest man-made structure in the Southern Hemisphere. It has become an iconic landmark in Auckland’s skyline due to its height and unique design.
The tower is part of the SKYCITY Auckland casino complex, originally built in 1994–1997 for Harrah’s Entertainment. The tower attracts an average of 1,150 visitors per day (over 415,000 per year).
The Sky Tower has several upper levels that are accessible to the public:

Jim’s Accessibility Comments:
Standing 1,076 feet (tallest tower in New Zealand), it offers spectacular views of Auckland in every direction from 2 observation decks and a revolving restaurant. Bungy jumping from the top of the tower is also available although the falling speed is somewhat regulated so it’s not quite as fast as a free-fall. For those interested, bungy jumping is available for wheelchair travelers or you can also sit at street level (as I did) and watch the jumpers descend. The Sky Tower is fully accessible by elevator although elevator access is through a garage parking lot corridor. Watch for wheelchair signage which is hard to find. There is a wheelchair accessible restroom in the Sky Tower lobby and on observation deck.
As a side note, the Sky Tower is located in what is called SkyCity which includes 2 very nice hotels and multiple restaurants, bars and a casino. It’s a very popular destination attraction so it’s very busy (bordering on crowded) and pretty noisy. It’s also located on a somewhat hilly part of downtown Auckland. If rolling through Auckland, the most level access is via Queen Street.
If you’re visiting Auckland for the 1st time, it’s really a fun experience with spectacular 360 degree views so you really get the lay of the land in and around Auckland. The Sky Tower is very wheelchair friendly but it’s also a very busy, crowded tourist attraction.
