Wheelchair Accessibility Comments

• This hotel certainly has its historic charm but also shows its age. Built in 1956, it was a Hollywood hangout for many years but it can’t get away from its mid-century architecture and layout. While the hotel went out of favor long ago, the hotel and rooms have been upgraded nicely since 2002 with a modern contemporary arty feel.
• I visited a couple rooms in the newer Tower building and they were quite nice, however I wasn’t able to visit their wheelchair accessible rooms as they had hotel guests.
• One dissapointment was that ALL SUITES were up a flight of stairs. These were located in the older 2 story portion of the resort. There is no elevator to the suites, and they are not accessible.
• The restaurant, lounge and pool were all very wheelchair accessible.
• The pool area, while large, seemed very cramped with rows of lounge chairs. Pretty much the style of pool / resort built back in the 1950’s.
• But the property was trendy and accessible.
• It’s also a level 2-4 block walk or roll to Old Town Scottsdale with it’s many restaurants and bars.
