Wheelchair Jimmy Accessibility Comments: We stayed at this charming manor house in 2011 as we drove around Ireland. As I recall there are a couple steps at the entrance, but there’s an easy level side ramp into a side door. Once inside, all the common areas are step free including the wonderful restaurant. We had a spacious room which was well decorated and very clean. Although I don’t remember all the bathroom details, it was certainly accessible for my manual wheelchair. They have an excellent bar and dining room. There is a small asphalt parking lot and 1 van accessible parking space when you arrive. Service was excellent and friendly. The hotel is a 5 minute drive from downtown Waterford. Excellent wheelchair accessible room.

The Athenaeum House Hotel is a charming manor house with wonderful service and a great restaurant. If you’re driving around Ireland and visiting the Waterford showroom as we did, this is the place to stay! Fabulous!
