Discover the Museum of Pop Culture (formerly EMP) wheelchair accessible attractions, things to do, tours and activities for disabled travelers. Read our informative review of the Museum of Pop Culture to learn if it is wheelchair accessible and wheelchair friendly, as well as if Jim recommends it should be avoided by travelers in wheelchairs.

The Experience Music Project (EMP) is a very accessible attraction in Seattle, WA; perfect for wheelchair travelers of any age.

Experience pop culture in EMP Museum’s colorful Frank Gehry-designed building! Get your Hendrix fix, play an instrument or jam with friends, and tour exciting, interactive exhibits. New special exhibitions include: Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses, Avatar: The Exhibition, Can’t Look Away: The Lure of Horror Film, with guest curators John Landis, Eli Roth, and Roger Corman and AC/DC: Australia’s Family Jewels. Plus much, much more!

EMP is a leading-edge, nonprofit museum, dedicated to the ideas and risk-taking that fuel contemporary popular culture. With its roots in rock ‘n’ roll, EMP serves as a gateway museum, reaching multigenerational audiences through our collections, exhibitions, and educational programs, using interactive technologies to engage and empower our visitors. At EMP, artists, audiences and ideas converge, bringing understanding, interpretation, and scholarship to the popular culture of our time.

Jim’s Accessibility Comments:

Located right next to the Seattle Space Needle, the recently renamed Museum of Pop Culture is exceptionally wheelchair accessible and is fun for the whole family. Plenty of accessible parking, large commercial elevators to all areas and large wheelchair accessible restrooms. It’s easy to spend a complete day or more here. One of my Favorite Seattle Things-To-Do!
